I only knew Bob casually as a fellow surfer; our paths would cross at The Wall on any good surf day. He was always pleasant and warm... the kind of person you certainly would want to get to know better. That opportunity will never come now. As I looked out the window on this beautiful Sept. 11 morning here in 2012, I told my wife how eerily similar this day was to that fateful day in 2001 when Bob lost his life. How cruel and tragic for his wife, Deb, and their two beautiful children. God bless you all... we will never forget.

Bob, just thinking about you and your family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. The Burlington High School Class of 1981 got together for our 30th reunion this past November. We as a group stopped and reflected on all our lost classmates and honored you with a moment of silence. There was not a dry eye in the room. Bob, we all miss you!

Bob and Deb were the happiest couple I had ever met. I will never forget
seeing them holding hands walking down Main st.I pray for Deb and her
two boys. This is a tough world and there are many that will try to take advantage
of you and your boys stay tough.

I went to Burlington High School and ULowell with Bob. He was a sweet and wonderful guy. I still remember his little boy speaking at his memorial as if it were last night. God bless Bob and his family. I know he is in Heaven watching over them.

During my stay at Netstal US, we used to work together. I remember Bob as a warm and funny person, driving his Corvette and always talking about his surfing adventures!

God bless your family!

I knew him just little. He had taken me and a friend out on his boat a few times. He used to drive down my street to hang with one of my friends, Mike, who lived on the same street. He sure had his toys! Very nice guy. Will be missed. R.I.P.

I knew Rob when I was younger and we both surfed together. I just wanted to say I've never met a nicer person in my life. He was so generous and asked for nothing in return. I think of him often, especially when I paddle out or drive by a favorite spot of his, Straws point. I will never forget what a dear friend he was and still is...

He was going to be at Future Media on Wednesday, Sept 12. The one sales call I wish he never made. I remember.

Debbie,

Our paths had crossed on a few occasions before your wedding, and I recall how full of life, positive, and hard-working you both were. My wife and I crossed paths with you again at your home, where you shared pictures of a perfect wedding day, and we enjoyed a slice of life with your new family. I know how honorable Bob was, for I had seen first hand where he had made a promise to a friend and fought to keep that promise at a cost, when it would have been easier to cut his losses. I can assure you these memories will not be forgotten. Time has not faded the person or generosity shared, and I still reflect every time I pass through your hometown. I was honored to have met you both and your family. My heart goes out to you all.

Bob and I were part of a tight group of Americans working for Netstal AG in Naefels, Switzerland in 1988. I remember Bob as lots of fun, smart, and always looking for an adventure. God bless his family. Bob is not forgotten.

Bob was working on a project with me at the time of his death. I hope I always remember how positive he was. It gave me strength when I felt like quitting.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
