We are former Roslyn Heights residents (now living in Levittown). Our son Marc, about to turn 13, attended Kindergarten at The Heights School. Mrs. Hussa was (is?) the school nurse. (Sorry I kept mispronouncing your name!) Robert Hussa was the first casualty we heard of that came close to us. Never laid eyes on Mr. Hussa or spoke with him. Nevertheless, his death saddened us. We were sad for Mrs. Hussa and her family. Eight years later, I still listen for his name when they read down the list of names at the annual memorial. Our sympathies remain with the Hussa family. God bless Mr. Hussa.
Sincerely: Ann, Artie and Marc Braun

I never had the pleasure of knowing this man, but I was friends with his son, and I know that he was a spectacular human being.... Anyone who knows Mr. Hussa's family can see that. So sad for the loss ... so much loss.

Robert Hussa was my uncle. I will always remember him as a caring and loving person. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. May God bless him.

Mr. Hussa was an amazing human being. A brilliant man who could speak on the same level as anyone, without judgment. He would have given the shirt off his back to a stranger. I have no doubt that when he died he was trying to help others around him.
The father of a very close friend of mine, we had several heartfelt discussions about the loss of my own father, for which I will always remember with much gratitude. He had a way of speaking that would put you at ease. I remember with great fondness being the guest at his ski house on the many weekends where he graciously taught my girlfriend, now wife, how to ski because I had no patience to do so. That was the kind of man he was.
He loved his wife and sons tremendously and his pride was evident when he was around them. He was an athlete, scholar, and master chili cook. The world took a horrible loss on 9/11/01 with the passing of Mr. Hussa, and I promise to never forget.

Bobby was a good person. He lived across the street from me.
He loved to compete. He was my boss, and fiend many memorries. We played basketball, football and camping.  Good times. I liked Bobby . Bobby was a worker. He provided. He was taken away from many. I am honnored to have known him.
May He Rest In Peace. God Bless His Family. I know you are in heaven.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
