I did not know Robert, but today I climbed 110 stories in the Charlotte Firefighters Memorial Stair Climb in his honor. I wanted to express my deepest respect to his family and friends. God bless you all.

I did not know this man who continues to live in the hearts of those who love him, but I want to honor his memory as we remember this tragic time in the history of our country. May you be strengthened and comforted as our country remembers. God bless you and keep you close to Him.

On the 11th of September I participated in a memorial stair climb here in Colorado to honor the 343 firefighters and their families. Again I carried a photo of Robert. After the stair climb was finished, the photo of Robert was returned to my locker at work. I wanted Paula and her family to know that it is not just once a year that I think about them and Robert. Every morning that I go to work, I look at his picture and am reminded of their sacrifice.

I have never forgotten Bobby. Today I had to say so. My heart goes out to Paula, and to all who loved and lost this wonderful man.

I never was lucky enough to meet this man but did know his wife Paula. I am glad he had her in his life but so saddened she had to suffer this tragic loss. 911 is a day so many of us will never forget, a day I will never understand. May God deliver Peace and Comfort to his family.

I only learned of Robert's death a few weeks ago. I had never imagined that 9-1-1 had hit so close to home. To think that a friend which I grew up with suffers so much from the loss of a husband, best friend, and soul mate brings a fresh anger, sadness, and reality to the events of September 11th, 2001. This proves we will NEVER forget. God bless Robert Minara.

Hello, my name is Jose, and I'm a firefighter with Arvada Fire Dept. in Colorado. I did not know Robert, nor do I know his family. Yesterday I participated in the 4th annual Denver Metro Area Firefighters Memorial Stair climb to commemorate the lives of those lost on Sept. 11th, 2001. This is not about me or any accomplishments I have done, but is about those that heroically gave their lives to protect and help others on that tragic day. I carried a photograph of Robert Minara with me and thought about what he went through on that day and what his family has endured since that day. I'm writing today to let it be known that Robert and his family are not forgotten and that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

It is almost 7 years since my husband was killed in the WTC. Many people seem to think that many of us have moved on, but I can tell you that is not always the case. I have learned to live with my pain and grief through intense counseling and the support and love of family, friends, and my FDNY family. Coping with the grief of this traumatic loss has been like being thrown into a raging sea. You get beat up as you battle the waves trying to reach safety, then all of sudden you are thrown onto the beach, battered and bruised, and you finally stand up and breathe. My husband Bobby will never leave my heart and mind. He is with me always.

The last time I was with Bob was July of 2001. Bob and Paula and my brothers Tom and Mike were all together to celebrate the baptisim of my daughter's triplets, John, Michael, and Thomas. He was his usual happy self and he had
three shirts from the firehouse for the boys (they still wear them). Bob was going to retire in September and I remember Paula telling us she had a "sick feeling" and she wished he would leave now. Bob laughed and said "I'm 54, how can I retire "He felt guilty". I'll always remember that day.

My Stepfather Robert Minara was a loving man. He was more than a Stepfather, he was a friend. He means the world to me, just because he's gone in body doesn't mean he's gone in spirit. He is with me everyday and helping me everyday. I miss his smile, I miss his laughter...I miss how a room lite up when he walked in. A man who loved life and lived life as he loved it. He will always be remembered. Your family loves you and misses you Bobby!!

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
