Time could never erase the wonderful memories of you as a beautiful infant, a happy toddler, a fun teenager and a loving son, husband and father. I love you, Bobby and miss you so much. Aunt Joan

Bobby was a distant cousin that I never got to know. May the events of May 1st, 2011 in some way help in bringing some closure to all his loved ones and to all his friends who had the good fortune to have known him and loved him.

My parents knew you, and they were as close to you as ever. I was one when this happened, but I know you were a great guy and nice and kind.

He shows us a sign each time we look up on a clear night sky, for he is like a star that shown so bright for so many. Thank you, Sut, for being you.

Nine years have gone Bob - You are so missed. I keep in touch with your mom, of course, and will always be there for her.
Stay the angel you are now, and do God's work by looking after your wife, mom and children.... Love to you and all who passed that day..

I had the honor of working with Bobby, literally standing side by side in the cramped conditions at the NYSE for quite a few years. To this day, my fondest memories of working there were with Bobby and the HYY crew. Whether it was a few pops at the Luncheon club or eating hot wings from the Grotto while answering the constantly ringing phones during the day, Bobby was always the guy with a smile on his face.
I just wanted to say that I miss you and the good times we had. I'm glad to have had the time we shared in the trenches.

Bobby was on the floor and I worked upstairs on the desk. We spent so much time on the phone working on orders together. I think of him to this day so many times when I am on the phone. He worked with my cousin Christine O'Neil.
He had an easy laugh, a great sense of humor and a kind kind heart. I miss him.

I grew up at 17 Seabrook Lane in Stonybrook, N.Y. until my mom's sudden passing in 1974. We moved away, but I have never forgotten all the cherished memories I have of my childhood friends from Seabrook Lane, especially Bobby Sutcliffe. I remember he was such a happy-go-lucky boy, always a big, beautiful smile on his face. Even as a young child back then, I could tell he was so loved by his parents and friends. Bobby's positive attitude, combined with his big, gentle heart, I knew then that he would succeed in any endeavor he would ever pursue, whether it involved his family, friends, or his work. My sincere condolences go out to everyone who ever knew Bobby Sutcliffe. Bobby will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
God bless,
Elisabeth (McCollum) Bostwick

Bob is missed by all of his friends, and thought of daily. He still brings a smile to our faces. Best wishes to Margaret, the kids, and Mrs Sutcliffe.

I spent my entire childhood living next door to the Sutlciffe's, Bobby as constant in my home as my other 2 brothers, Bobby and Larry. We fought like siblings, and when we grew older, we both became parents to little girls, my Kimberly first and then his precious Kara. When I saw him after he became a father, we both laughed at how these tiny little girls ran our lives, and I could see how proud and happy he was to become a father and how the women in his life had changed him. He was a great friend and fraternity brother with my brother Larry when they attended Plattsburg, and they remained close friends until his death. He was a wonderful friend to my brother, and he is missed dearly. Today marks 7 years since 9-11, and I just wanted someone to know that he is thought of often and in my prayers. Godspeed, my friend. We miss you.

Although I never had the honor of meeting Bob, I have however come to know and love Margaret, Kara, Kyle and Brett. I live in Ramsey and have become great friends with Margaret and her family. I often hear funny and loving stories of what a sweet and funny guy 'Suttie' was. He would be very proud to see how well Margaret has been raising those three Little Sutties. She and the kids are amazing! He is dearly missed by them all.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
