I worked with Bob at Delta Airlines back in 1995. He trained me for my position so we spent a lot of one on one time together. Bob lived life to the fullest and had a great smile.I would say a free spirit.I pray that you are resting easy my friend, and that your loved ones can take comfort that we as a nation will never forget.

I am a 14-year-old girl, and today, on the eighth anniversary of September 11th, my high school passed out little slips of paper with the names of people who died on that day. I received Robert Thomas Linnane. I do not know him, but my prayers go out to his family, and I have his name on the wall of my desk, so every time I see it, I think, "Life is too short, and we need to appreciate the things that really matter in life." I know that Mr. Linnane is in heaven with the Lord right now, and out of all the people who died that day, he is not forgotten and will never be. I looked him up on the Internet, and he looked like the kindest, sweetest man in the world. Robert, out of all the thousands who lost their lives that day, you will not be forgotten. Aw, now I'm crying. My greatest condolences go out to his friends and family. God bless.

I met Robert, also known as Bob to many of us here at Delta Airlines, approximately 15 years ago. He was very funny and always very nice to his co-workers. I can remember him talking about wanting to be a fireman, and he could not wait to become one. The people who knew Bob from Delta Airlines still think about him, and our prayers and thoughts will always be with him.

I wish to extend my symphathy to the family of Robert on this the fifth anniversary of 9-11. My prayers have been and still are with his family. On Sept. 11, 2002, in the city of Frankfort, KY., I first became aquainted with the name Robert Thomas Linnane. It was at that memorial service I received a note card sized piece of paper with his name on it. I have kept that small piece of paper attached to the rearview mirror in my truck to remind me daily to never forget the sacrifice of life on the day. For me Robert represents every life that was lost on that day. Each anniversary date I hang his name tag on my office door to remind those that see it to never forget what happened that day.
If there is any way you could let his family know that there is someone that remembers them in prayer each day. I would appreciated it.
Sincerely,
Danny Watson
Frankfort. KY

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
