Well Roger-and I still refer to you as Roger; since, the name Mark never could stay stuck in my head (maybe you shouldn't have told me the complete name at the start)- it's been 8 years now and I still remember the day you were taken from all the people who knew and loved you.
Apparently time does not make it all that much easier as I still get a bit wet around the eyes when I even so much as glance back at that day. You're missed and never will be forgotten, especially not by this gimpy legged guy who you showed kindness to.

I first spoke to Mark when I worked for Liberty Mutual as a young guy around 1981. The, we both left the companies that kept us in touch. Then around 1996 he began doing environmental work at Marsh New York and I was in the LA office. We'd see each other all over the country, and spoke on the phone often. Just a cool guy with brains to match his sense of humor, and who spoke often about how proud he was of his kids and how much he loved them and his wife. I wrote this song when my friends told me his kids were on national TV looking for their dad. God bless Mark and his family. He was a hero for sure.

I did not know Mark Rasweiler, but I feel as if I did. I was in downtown NYC on that fateful day, and I remember clearly seeing his face on the missing posters that were all over the city in the days following the attacks. Something in his face looked familiar to me. He looked like a very kind soul.
Since that day, I wear a silver "Mercy BAND" (stands for Bearing Another's Name Daily) on my wrist with his name engraved into it. I want everyone to always remember those lost. My thoughts go out to his family and friends and to all of those who lost loved ones on 9/11. God bless them and their loved ones.

Mark was the best of Fran and Charles Rasweiler, the best brother a girl could ever have. My hope is that is some way I can be an extension of his goodness. He is very missed and loved. I am the youngest sister and truly miss my brother.
Always love you,
beth

Mark, happy B-day # 59! the big 6-0 cant be far behind! Thinking of you today. Thinking of how you always emphasized that you were 16 months older, not just a year! So glad you turned 5-0 before me! So glad you will be 60 before me! Still hearing your chuckle... "Dar"

Mark Rasweiler was my dad. He was an extra-ordinary person and I hope each and every day that I do his legacy justice. My dad was kind, caring, always offering to help others, smart, funny and a lot of fun! He loved to laugh and was always telling silly jokes. I miss him more and more each day.
~*~*~Dad~*~*~ thank you for being the best dad ever!!! I love you and miss you so much.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
