I pray for you, your daughter and your family! You may be gone but will never be forgotten.

Today, 9/11/11, I attended the SF Giants vs. LA Dodgers game in San Francisco. Each person upon entering, was given an 9/11 remembrance card with a name of a person who died, and an American Flag on the reverse side.

My card had Ruth McCourts name on it and I would like to send it to the family. Please let me know where it should be sent. God rest her soul.

I saw a show yesterday evening, and Ms. Ruth's brother was on, telling his story of a lady that he helped who was badly burned and how he was supposed to go to an interview that day, and Ruth told him to wear a bright tie so he will be remembered. At the end of the program, he told viewers about the plane that hit the second tower, and how his sister Ruth and her four-year-old daughter were in that plane. So, so sad. This story just hit me with such a heartfelt sadness. I wanted to learn more about the this family. I will continue to keep all the 9/11 victims in my prayers, and many blessings to come.

I just want to say my thoughts are of you, your family and of your beautiful daughter who is with you in heaven.

Today is January 26th, 2010. On this chilly morning, as I started my solitary stroll along a beautiful trail that weaves between a serene lake and dense wooded hills, I slid on my headphones and played a podcast I had randomly downloaded entitled: "Ruth's Coin"—A story of great tragedy, eternal love, inspiration, and strength, eloquently recounted by the widowed husband of Ruth Magdalene McCourt and members of Ruth's Irish-American family. Ruth's life was well lived. She touched and shaped the lives of many people. Yet even in the brief space of time I listened to that podcast, I felt I had met her and known her—and she touched me, too, and I felt graced that I had found that podcast and learned something important about how I can be a better human being to others. Thank you, Ruth.

Love,
Chris X

As a mother myself, I can only pray that you and your daughter were surrounded by God's Gracious Light when that moment came. As a mother, you probably held her tight and spent that last journey together even more in love with each other than ever before. I pray for you both and your family. Blessings to you and your family. xx

I can only imagine what this mother must have been feeling. But not even knowing her, I know that, as a mother, she must have comforted her daughter, knowing it was their last moments together, and even held her, assuring her everything would be all right. I remember all those who died on 9/11, but I remember these two the most--I guess because I'm a mother. But if there is any comfort, at least they're together with the Lord, and what two beautiful angels they must be! May God bless and keep them. To the husband and father left behind, my prayer is that your loss and pain is eased with time and that you look to the day when the three of you will be together again.

Dear Mrs. McCourt:

You had the most beautiful little girl in the world. Juliana shines like the sun. Her face was so radiant and bright. Your family was very happy and full of love and joy, and it pains me to see that it was destroyed on that terrible September morning. I care about you and your daughter very much. Both of you will always be in my heart.

Love,
Previn G

Ruth, I read about your death and that of your precious angelic child Juliana years ago when this tragedy happened. It broke my heart and still hurts to think about. I pray for you and her often, and we share something, I too have a Julianna, now nearly 5. I think of you and yoru child always, and know that God chose you and she to be in His divine kingdom to be angels to watch over the rest of us left behond in this hellish world. I pray you didn't suffer, but as a mommy I know mentally and emotionally your suffering must have been worse than any physical pains you endured, trying to shelter your child knowing she was to die also. God Bless you and always keep you. I know He is.

I read the article about Ruth and Julianna McCourt. She seems like she was such a beautiful and graceful woman, with an equally charming and witty daughter. It brought tears to my eyes to read about how they were killed. It gives me some consolation to know that there are philanthropic organizations that have been formed in their names. I know their joyful spirits will live on.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
