To the family of Sarah I pray that God will ease your pain in times of sorrow. May He shine His light upon you and that you receive comfort from knowing that Sarah is one of His beautiful angels and that love never dies, but conquers all even in darkness. God bless you Sarah always x

I never knew Sarah, but I worked for a UK airline and sat opposite one of her sisters in offices near London Heathrow airport.

On the fateful day in 2001 we watched the office TVs in disbelief as events unfolded, little realising Sarah's fate.

I've never forgotten Sarah and today, my prayers are for both her, her husband of just a few weeks [they'd recently married], and her family. May they all find peace and may God bless them.

Your smile and charm could light a room. Your style and effervescence could bring life to any event, no matter how dull. So many good memories and thoughtful conversations.... It's a tragedy you are gone, but the world and I are better because you were here. Thank you. I still miss you and think of you often, and probably always will. Love always....

That smile she had ... I remember it from many meetings we had in Tokyo. I was completely in love with this girl, and she knew it. Still, we remained business friends and shared the odd drink and dinner with a few laughs. But she moved on to brighter times afterwards. Then this ... this terrible thing. It's selfish of me, but Sarah, I wish I'd had the guts to tell you what I felt and try to make you happier. Would you have still been in New York if that'd happened? I'll never know.

Rest now
Then arise
Visit me the moment I fall
Gift me with your smile, Sarah
There is no more unknowing
There is no more unhaving
For you are everywhere
And part of us

I worked with Sarah at the Virgin Megastore in Oxford Street, London in the mid 80s. She overlooked my bad dress sense and became a good friend. I've lost touch with so many people in the past, and Sarah was one of the ones I regretted losing touch with. She was one of those rare people that just shone beauty.

I've only just found out lost her life at the World Trade Centre. Dear sweet Sarah, I'll never forget you. My heart is utterly broken.

I worked with Sarah in the Reuters Sydney office.

We started the same day and that bond made us friends. This is the first time I have written here but I visit every year. For some reason, I just wanted to write something here.

Sarah was a beautiful, articulate, intelligent human being. She was funny and made my time at work much more enjoyable. She had the most gorgeous smile. I remember at one of our Christmas parties, we had a great dance together. She was someone I could really talk to.

I remember the day she told me that she was finally moving to her dream city - New York. I was so happy for her. We did lost contact then and I truly regret that.

My thoughts and love are with you Sarah and her closest friends and family

Love
John

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
