May the road rise to meet you, brother....

I "met" Sean at his funeral and still grieve for him and keep my remarks and his mass card. He was a special person. He is definitely not forgotten and I firmly believe he is still with us.

Two years ago, on September 10, I was helping my son look for an appropriate prayer to bring to school-Fordham Prep, Sean's alma mater. Unexplainably, I was led to a site in Ireland that had posted the beautiful song written for Sean's funeral. "...and they kept on running, right through the gates of heaven". Sean and his fellow firefighters were truly special heroes.

My love to the family. You and Sean will always be in my heart and prayers. God bless you all.

I was in Sean's series in bootcamp at MCRD Parris Island. Sean, there are lots of marines thinking about you. I'm glad I rubbed shoulders with you. Your brothers don't need anniversaries to be reminded of your deeds. We reflect on them every day. Fair winds and following seas, my friend.

My name is Paloma Tallón from Spain. Though I didn't know Sean Patrick, I am very proud of someone who bears my name and has been a hero, and I believe he is still taking care of us from heaven.

My thoughts are with the family. Rosaleen, you've done an incredible job dealing with the media. You have spoken with dignity regarding safety, proper equipment, and the rights of firefighters around the world. You are an inspiration to us all. I live in Canada, and I can see the family resemblance! I offer my sincerest condolences.

I was told by my late great uncle Gary that Sean was my second cousin. I just want to let everyone on this site know I'm from Simi Valley, CA, and I come from a long family line of firefighters. I'm 20 years old and in a fire academy on the west coast in Ventura county. My great grandfather, grandfather, dad, 2 uncles, and cousin are all firefighters from the navy, to Los Angeles city, and the rest with the Ventura county fire department, and now me just getting my foot in the door.

I never met you, cuz, but I can say you are the best out of my family, and not for dying on that day, but because you had the balls to work for the F.D.N.Y. and to walk into those towers. My dad and uncle came to the pile after that bad day, and they had no idea you were family, and I didn't know that you were till about 6 months ago....

And let me tell everyone on here I read all the stories on that day, and the name Sean Tallon came up quite a few times, and you are one of my personal heroes, bud! R.I.P.

Much love from the west coast,
Corey Stearns

I live in Kentucky, and I feel the lost of all the victims of this terrible tragedy. God bless all who lost their lives that day. I feel for Sean Tallon, too, for there may be a chance we are related, even though we never met. God bless you.

I was reading "Kildare Today" this morning. I read a tribute to Sean Tallon. Through out the day today, I read a lot of names of people who died on Sept 11th. I decided to look up their names and read who they were, "who they were not just a name. Each person is a loved one to someone, beautiful words written, and I just began to discover "who" Sept 11 was. In memory of those who dies 09-11-06

My little brother, I miss you more as time goes on.  The other night I listened to that Garth Brooks song "The Dance".  "I am glad I didn't know the way it all would go, the way it all would end.  Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance."  Sean, I think of all the years we had growing up together, as tots and teens.  We were finally all grown up at my wedding.  I look at pictures of you dancing with mom and me on that day and I know that we were so happy that you were our son and brother.  "Looking back on the memories.... for a moment we held everything."  We love you Sean.  You are a part of us... you are in our hearts and you guide our souls.  So many friends and relatives are inspired by your life and death.  You should see the tatoo that your U.S. Marine comrades' have on their arms dedicated to you!  I know they miss you.  I know they were your "brothers" too.  We are proud of the man you were on that day and all the days before.  You were an "honest Joe".
I love you.

Those who have given of themselves to others will live forever in every single heart they've touched.  I never knew Sean but we share last names. Sean and his family  will always be in my heart. May God Bless!!!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
