I am writing a story about Beverly Eckert, the widow of Sean Rooney, and I personally think her story is so amazing and sad at the same time. It takes a devoted wife to live the rest of her life in memory of her late husband, and it raises the hair on my arms when I read how Sean was on the phone with his wife when the plane went down. That is too touching, but sad. I couldn't imagine what she must have been feeling to know her lover was never coming home again! At least now they are together again in heaven. That is the comforting part of this whole story, that after all her suffering and the great things she did for the memory of her husband, she gets to be united with him!

I donated blood today for the first time in years. My iron level was always too low. I thought because it was a blood drive for 9/11, pints of blood in honor of the 9/11 people, I would go try. They gave me a sticker with Sean Rooney's name on it, and it says I donated my pint in memory of him. The name sounded so familiar. So I looked it up on the computer and quickly remembered Sean and his wife Beverly. I am honored to wear his name today. May you both rest in peace and shine in God's eternal love.

I just learned about Sean and Bev today. I found this story very moving, and very sad. I'm glad that Bev no longer hurts for Sean, but is now with him—if anything, good can come out of this. What an ironic twist of fate!

I'm so sorry. Words cannot describe the loss this family has suffered. Again, sorry for your tragic loss.

May you and your wife rest in peace in heaven together in the arms of God.

My prayers are with the loved ones of Sean Rooney and Beverly Eckhart. May it bring you comfort to know that they are surely reunited in Heaven now—and may God bring each of their dear family members and friends "the peace that surpasses all understanding."

You're together now, holding each other again. Sean must have needed Beverly by his side once again. The world is praying for you and your families. We can only imagine Sean waiting to greet Beverly and how comforted she must have been to see his face once more. We will never forget.

Rest in peace, Sean and Beverly.... The fight for 9-11 truth will still continue in your honor.

Dear Sean,

Beverly is now with you, and even though it is with a heavy heart that she is no longer with us, it only seems right that she has gone on to see you. I love and miss you both very much.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site.
