I was Tamara’s supervisor at the Pentagon, I hired her and assigned her throughout the building. When she was tasked to the Office of The Army G1 she was happy and they were happy to have her on the team. We were in the middle of sealing the move from one office to the other and I would always see her in the halls and call her a traitor and with that huge smile we would hug. The day of the event I was at Fort Jackson recruiting Soldiers to come to the Pentagon when I received the message of the plane hit. When I finally got through to my office and ran down the list of names in my office she was the only one unaccounted for. She was a very nice younglady and Soldier I have never forgotten my fallen Soldier her memory will stay with me for the rest of my life. Rest in Peace Sergeant Thurman, your missed by all.

Wish you were here. I know this sounds crazy, but I miss all the times we didn't have together. I wish we would have had more time to bond and spend together. I will love you always and can't wait to bond with you in heaven. Love ya, big sis!

I'll always remember your smile! When you were around, you made everyone forget the bad and focused on the good things. "Peacemaker" is what I used to call you. You will never be forgotten. A true American hero. Miss you, Tamara.

You were one special angel in school. And now you are just as special now that you are with our heavenly Father. I will never forget our word that described certain people: "gummy." Your smile and our friendship was that divinely planned. I think of you often as I look back at your picture and the words you wrote on the back, for me to always remember you.
I love you, dear friend, but the Lord loved you more. You are missed! Until we meet again.

My sister, my friend. I miss you so much. Our sister bond was like no other. Not a day goes by that I dont think about you. I sit and think about when we were little kids and how I always managed to get us in trouble, but you would always take the wrap for it. I know now why.. You were my angel here on earth, now you are my angel in Heaven. Tami you were my best friend, no one can ever take your place. I will keep your memory alive through me always...Love your sis, Bea

I met Tamara only a few times and one of those times was at our son Ryan's 1st Birthday in Kaiserslautern. She was a very kind person and my husband, Tom, enjoyed working with her. As 9/11 comes and goes, I always think of Tamara and how her family must feel. I hope they know that she won't be forgotten.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
