RIP, Shashi... though I did not know you. I wish your family strength and courage in coping with your loss. 9-11-2011 - 10th anniversary.

Dear Shashi.. It has been 10 yrs since the terrible events of the 9/11. I couldnt but help remembering you once again. Still vividly remember our times in the far east division, in Singapore on the NCS project. The Ai Luan jokes that you used to crack and the fun we all had together.

RIP buddy.

Bheem

Shashi,

Its 10 years to this day. Though I have never met you in person, I remember you everytime I use the meeting room named after you in EC-1. My wife remembers you every year on this day, for you had helped her out in preparing her resume and preparing for a job, when she graduated out of her college. She remembers you as a gentle and helpful guide.

You may not be here physically with us, but I and Kavitha remember you with fond memories and we folks at Wipro will always have you amidst us.

Rest in Peace.

Ashwath and Kavitha

I do not know you, Shashi, but I had heard a lot of good things about you, especially from a person who was close to you. You may be gone physically, but you will remain in my heart forever. Sep 11 and Oct 2—the birthdate of Mahatma Gandhi—are permanently etched in my memory, as they have become symbols for violence and non-violence, for cruelty and kindness. I hope you have found peace and happiness in your new place of abode. So long, my friend.

Dear Shashu,

Nine years have passed without you, but every moment you are with us. I wish that the golden days when we were together would come back again. Amma and Appa's days are getting difficult to manage without you. I've wished a million times that you were with us.

Missing you terribly,
Your sis, Poornima

Dear Sashi,

You will be missed by all of us who knew you. You were the quintessential carefree guy who would light up the room.
We were partners in crime in several of our exams and that will be one of my fondest memories of you. RIP my friend and God bless your soul.

Shashi Kiran Lakshmikantha Kadaba

Shashi my dear friend,

You were the most jolly one through college. Always carefree and full of laughter and joy. Your love for life and laughter still echoes in my ears, 15 years after college days. Life could not have been more cruel in snatching that laughter away at such a young tender age. On this day, 9 years from that dreaded one, I grieve for you and your family Shashi. I pray to God that your soul may rest in peace and may God give your family the strength to always cherish the best of memories of you. Time cannot heal the pain of knowing what those who knew you lost on that day, but we can only pray for collective strength to share your memories and seek solace in thoughts so as to numb the pain.

God bless your soul Shashi.

Dear friend Mass Bunk,

I really miss you all the time. When we were in SJCE, Mysore we were sitting in last bench and enjoyed every second of college life, but I thought one day we would meet again. But I didn't even dream this could happen to you, my best friend, who's departed now. May his mother and father and all his family members gain strength from this massacre.

"To meet and to part is the way of life, but
To part and to meet is the hope of life."

With this hope I salute a great Indian son.

Bangara,

Miss you, kano. For the fourth time I visited Ground Zero and the Memorial, and like it happens every time, my eyes wander all over just to catch a glimpse of you, to see if you are there in the crowd. The heart beats so much faster, and it misses the beat when I read your name. Eyes get blurred, and mind stops functioning, and time just goes by. Losing you is an irreparable loss to all of us, no doubt, but I feel sad for the world—because you had made it a better place to live with your generosity and
joi de vivre. I love you and miss you for ever. Rest in peace.

Dear Shashu,

Its been eight years for the whole family and nine and a half years for me that we met. Missing you a lot. I still remember the time we spent on the streets of Singapore with the Christmas deco on the Eve of '98. I still recollect your thunder thighs and your favourite 'Tu he Meri Kiran' and your favorite policy of 'I love myself and do you.' Hope you had the chance of getting the answer from your 'Girlfriends' :-). I am still trying to adopt the concept of 'I love myself' in my life.:-)

Missing you a lot, sis,
Suma, Cheema, and Kush

Dear Shashi mama,

I miss you so much and would like to be with you. But slowly I am learning it is impossible. I always miss you and would like you to know about it.

Bye,
Rami

Dear Shashi,

I am no one to you but someone made me to remember you for ever. You are a great "hero" in real terms. Great loss to India, Bangalore and the universe. May your soul rest in peace.

Hi Shashi,

I hope where ever you are, your soul rests in peace. The only mistake you did was to be at the WTC to do your job and earn a decent living and live your dream like all of us. GOD alone knows why this happened to you. I pray GOD that he give your family the strength to bear your loss.

Love and regards,
Rajeev

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
