On Sept 11-2011 Nashville, TN had a 911 Memorial Stair Climb. Yesterday Shawn was my brother again, I was climbing the stairs for him! I took him to the top! All 110 floors. I was a HONOR to climb for him! Division Chief Kenny Armstrong Hendersonville Fire Dept.

Shawn, we miss you terribly. I also regret not being able to spend a lot of time with you and Josh. We appreciate all the sacrifices that were made. We love you.

Shawn was my cousin, and also treated me like his daughter from the time I was a baby. To find out that he was lost and possibly dead tore me apart. Following his death, I lost his mom and his grandmother, all great people in my life. I miss them so very much and await our next meeting.

i am from Spain, but I have my story. year 2000 I spent 6 months in Brooklyn. Stayed in a student residence by Engine 207. at nite I heard the loud noises from the fire trucks. everytime I came home I felt safe. every day I would walk past the fire unit doors a few times to go wherever I had to go and whoever was there would always say "how are you doing?" or "have a nice day" with a smile. can't rememeber their faces. I never knew their names. but probably Shawn was one of them at that time. so I thank you if you ever smiled at me.

just a month after 9/11 I was in trenton, NJ. kinda ironic my boyfriend was in the zip code where the anthrax letters appeared. I took the train and came back to NYC I won't forget the burning smell.

i lived in BK but I worked in Manhattan around WTC area and after work most days i'd go under the towers to have a coffee or windowshop. I wonder about those unnamed faces, where they are now.

so I wanted to share my thoughts this in here cos it's been inside of me this long. GoD bless the souls of those who left us and the ones that lost pieces of their life and have irreplaceable hollows in their heart.

I met Shawn while working at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Shawn was A very very true and respectful friend. A week before this happened Shawn stopped by the hospital and said he was bored and wanted to come back part time, I sure wish he would have he is truly missed. My prayers go out the entire family. REST IN PEACE SHAWN.

I met Shawn through a friend while attending the New York City Police Academy. As a group we started our evening exercise from Clairmont Avenue in Brooklyn. We either jog or bike ride across the Brooklyn Bridge just to keep in shape. But not Shawn he use to roller blade all the way and had enough energy to head right back to Brooklyn. I would suggest we take the train, he laughed. Shawn was a great motivator and friend.

He will never be forgotten. May God Bless You All.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
