After 9/11 I was a mental health counselor for the Red Cross. I am a clinical social worker and pastor. I recently went to the 9/11 museum and bought a bracelet with Stephanie's name, and I am going to wear it every day until the tenth anniversary and will have my church pray for her family every week. I would love to have some pictures if I can and to learn all about her. We here in West Elkton, OH will keep Stephanie's memory alive. I think this will be healing for me. There were so many families that I worked with, and I don't know if I worked with Stephanie's family, but I want her to represent my experience. Much love to Stephanie's family.

Stephanie was my first cousin. Her father and my mom are sister and brother. My Uncle Fred is from Mobile, Alabama. I never met Stephanie.

Love you,
Cousin Delois Lawrence

In regards to the Guthries' post: Irby grew up and was selected to be a breeder Mom for the TSA puppy program. We have been volunteers for this program for two years and are now fostering Irby. She is a beautiful yellow lab. It is doubtful she'll make the program due to a low reward drive, but she has the potential to produce several puppies for the program. All puppies in this program are named after victims of the 9-11 attacks and victims of the war on terror since then.

Tonight we met a very special puppy walking in our neighborhood. When we stopped to talk to the owner, we found out that the dogs name was "Irby" named after a victim of the World Trade Center tragedy. This puppy is going to grow up to be a bomb sniffing dog to keep us all safe. Being a huge dog "family" we just thought we were just meeting a puppy, little did we know we were meeting a future hero. God bless to all the people that loved Stephanie.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
