I did not know Steven personally. I only know about him through his brother Kenneth and his girlfriend, Michelle (my cousin). My heart goes out to his family and friends. Kenneth is looking to reach out to his family for information on where his brother's remains might be buried. Please contact him at 717-939-2849. Or you can email me at cvanvalkenburg61 (at) aol (dot) com. My name is Crystal. Again, my sympathy to the family and friends of Steven.

God bless,

Steve was/is my step-brother. Steve was a warm, friendly, highly intelligent man with a lot to offer the world. He loved his family, enjoyed his job, and was physically active. I regret that we were not very close; we lived in different areas, and we didn't get to know each other as well as I would have liked. Anyone with questions about Steve's parents kindly contact me at clf41970 (at) yahoo (dot) com; I will be happy to help.

Though I knew Jake on a limited basis (thru Metrocall), I still think of him at various times, and especially during certain times, such as this past weekend. I was partaking in our USA Mobility 2008 Presidents' Club award ceremony in Mexico, and during the evening when the awards were being handed out, I thought about the times when I was with Metrocall and the ceremonies back then when he was one of the presenters. As a matter of fact, I've thought that at each ceremony that I've attended since his passing. You help me stop long to understand how we should behave with the people we still have around us. For that, I am grateful for having met Jake and the small part he has played in my life. Thank you, Jake!

I had spoken to Steve on the telephone in my work at a Northern VA company that utilized pagers from the company Steve had worked for. I had spoken to him about 3 times and had remembered his name when I saw it and it was confirmed he had worked for the company I had dealt with. It was sad to hear of the loss. Thanks for letting me share. I am very sorry for your loss.

Daniel, Please respond and let us know if Steven is the son of Robert and Elaine. We believe he is our father's brother's son.

My family and I believe that Steven is our first cousin. We have not seen each other since we were children. After Stevens father passing away at a very young age we lost touch.....We would love to hear from Aunt Elaine, or Steven's wife, just so that we know one way or another if this is our Steven. We are from MA. Our hearts go out to the family whether this is our Steven or not.......

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
