I did not know Steve and Shelly for long, but I remember telling them how blessed they were to share such a beautiful life together. I KNEW he was a special soul.
I still remember him telling me Shelly was pregnant....with pure joy and excitement. Seems like yesterday...and to find this website and see Jacquie writing letters...melts my heart.
God Bless You Steve, your family...and every life you ever touched and continue to watch over.

Steve was my best customer at Barneys New York(WFC)
He was a man with great style and class, on so many levels.
He was so kind to introduce me to new customers almost every
time he came in.
I think about him a lot. His kindness, His gracious smile,
His amazing, commanding personality.
I know that he is in Heaven watching over his lovely, gracious wife and his beautiful daughter.
May God continue to bless and rest your soul my friend.

Dear Jacqueline,
You are so lucky if you look like daddy! Your dad has a amazing smile; it lights up the room! He's handsome and smart. Dad can hear your thoughts and your wishes to see him. Dad will always love you! That could never change! Remember that when things are tough and somehow it turns out okay? It's because dad and God were there for you. One thing I do know, dad wants you to be happy! He wants you to be strong and successful like he is! God knows you miss him, and so do all of us! You will always be daddy's little girl!

I grew up in Basking Ridge, NJ and worked at Nino's Pizza. Years later I became a U.S. Marine and always remember the faces and names of people back home. There are many reasons I still wear the uniform today.... The Genovese family is one of them. Semper Fi.

Today at my school in Ft. Lauderdale, FL we had a 9/11 memorial prayer service. At the beginning of the day, we were all given a sticker with the name of a 9/11 victim on it. I got Steven's name. I've read all the comments you have left, and I know that Steven was a lucky man to have such a loving family. My heart goes out to his family and friends for the loss of someone who I am sure was a great man.

Steve was a wonderful person and a dear, loyal, and trusted friend who had an amazing way of making me smile, making me laugh. We had been friends for years, commuted into NYC together, and even ended up living in the same town. I remember when he met Shelly, how excited he was about his beautiful Texas sweetheart. I was thrilled that he’d met someone as wonderful as her. She had such a great influence on him.
I miss Steve terribly, to this day. His passing has left a tremendous hole in my life and in my heart. But isn’t that the measure of a true friend? I will never forget him, and yet I am so, so grateful for having known him. What upsets me most, when I think of his passing away from the rest of us, is how his beautiful daughter, Jacqueline, would not grow up with her daddy. Oh, how he would light up when he spoke of her. My fondest memories of Steve are of when he talked about his baby girl. Just a week before that horrible day on 9-11, he was beaming as he showed me the latest pictures of her. He loved her so deeply and with every bit of his heart. I know he must be watching over her, and this brings me some peace.

To the family and friends of Steven Gregory Genovese,
I would just like to extend my thoughts and prayers to all those who were touched by knowing Steven. I never met him, but I had the honor of reading his name at this year's ceremony. I was extremely proud to do so, and I feel that this will forever connect us.
Sincerely,
John Darcy, Sq-18 F.D.N.Y.

Louie,
7 years later and it hurts the same. You were an awesome brother-in law and friend. I will always admire your humble way and try to live my life the same. I look forward to seeing you at the gates of heaven.

We all have been affected by this horrifying event and we all are still mourning for your losses. We want to dedicate each and every 911 to those survivors, to make this a remembrance day of happiness for all the good in all who dieds eyes. Each and everyone who passed on in that day's horrifying explosion should be remembered for their smiles, jokes, families, friends. It's too sad and horrible to try to forget, but let's try to remember the happy. We love you all Sheboygan Wi

Dad,
I miss you so much. I wish I knew you better. A lot of people say I look just like you. In heaven can you eat candy and never get FAT? Do you have a mansion in heaven? I go to Lovejoy. I have a lot of friends. I REALLY WANT A DOG! I really want a lab or pug and French bulldog, but I will get one next year. I'm really good at math, and i'm good with electronics. I love to sing and write songs. I love NEW YORK. I would like to go there.
Love,
Jacqueline

Steve, we miss you. Jacqueline is so smart. She made the honor roll this year. She is going to be in third grade. She looks a lot like you. She also got an honor in math. Her teacher said she was "a math Diva." You would be so proud of her. Keep watching over her. Everything has changed so much. I'm so glad you asked Jesus to be your Lord and King. I know you are with him.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
