Susan, we were together in fourth, fifth and sixth grade and although we lost touch after graduating from elementary school, we met up many years later on the train going to work. We both worked at the World Trade Center the few times we met up. I remember how happy I felt to see you and talk with you after so many years. As a child, you were so quiet, thoughtful and intelligent when we were in class together and I can see from all the comments from others that knew you as a grown woman that you had not changed a bit. I did not know that you were a victim of the 9/11 attacks until about five years after the fact when one of our other elementary school classmates informed me. I was extremely saddened to hear the news. Just know that you are always in my thoughts.

I also went to HS with Susan. That Kearney bond has always been strong, but seems to be getting stronger since this past reunion. It feels sad to only be able to write on your memorial wall and not re-connect on your FB wall. We will keep you forever in our hearts.

I was so sorry to hear that Susan was one of those who perished on that horrible day. We went to HS together, and I remember her quiet demeanor and ever ready smile. I do hope her family members find some comfort in knowing that she has touched so many lives, and in knowing they will see her again.

Susan, you were in our thoughts and prayers as your classmates celebrated their 30th reunion. I was sorry to see that your dad passed away recently and pray that your mom sees this and knows that we are praying for her.

I went to Bishop Kearney High School with Susan, and was saddened to learn shortly after our 30th year reunion that Susan was taken from us prematurely on that horrible day. What I do remember about her from those days at Kearney, was her quiet demeanor and a kindness that shone in her eyes. I am sorry now that I did not know her better than that. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest at peace until we meet again....

Susan and I went to High School together. As our 30th reunion just passed, she has been in our thoughts and prayers and was missed. I remember Susan as a bright, quiet, sweet girl with a beautiful smile. We shared several classes together. My prayers go out to her family. Once a Kearney girl, always a Kearney girl.

Two weeks ago, dozens of women from Susan's high school graduating class celebrated their 30th anniversary together. In the days since, Susan's name — and the special person that she was — has been remembered many times over, and those of us who didn't already know were saddened by the news of her loss on that terrible, tragic day.
To Susan's family and friends who read this, all these years later: She is remembered always and missed anew by her fellow Kearney girls.

Susan,
Last night your father joined you in heaven, but as hard as it is for me to let him go, I hope you both are at peace, and now he has you again to hold his hand. Thank you for sharing him with me. I will always love you both.

I went to high school with Susan. She was one of the first people I met in freshman year. I remember what a lovely person she was. She had a quiet sense of humor and always a kind word and willingness to listen. When I learned she was lost, I felt so sad. I remember how close she was with her parents. I pray for Susan and her family frequently and especially on 9/11.

Susan,
Nine years later, and I never stop thinking about you. We became great friends working at LZA. We had lots of fun in those days. And we remained close friends after you left. I was deeply saddened when I heard you were one of those in the towers. I went to your memorial, and I think of you every time I'm by ground zero. You will never be forgotten. I wear your angel pin every anniversary. One day we will meet again. For now I know you are one of the angels watching over my girls.
Your friend forever,
Annie

Hello. I'm sorry for your tragic loss.... I'm from Ontario, Canada and was recently in New York. I was at ground zero and noticed Susan's name.... I understand I have relatives in NY. My grandfather's name was Anton. He had a brother who was a police officer in NY city. They came from Minsk, Belurus. I was just wondering if we are related.... Thanks.
Sincerely,
Wayne Nicholas Miszikowetz
(P.S. the last name was misspelled when they came to America.)

Susan,
I see your father every day, but I haven't seen a "shine" in his eyes since you became an angel. Keep watching over him and your mom, too, who've kept your room the same and still have tears every day. When your father talks about you, I learn a lot from him about raising and listening to my own children, and I'm hoping they will pass things to their children, and this way, too, you keep living!

...worked with Susan for a short time at an Engineering firm in NYC. She was a fine young woman, always willing to learn, to help and support. I touch her name each time I pass through JFK airport and say a short prayer for her and her comrades. Last night, 10 Sept 2006, I put the finishing touches on a short novel I have written and dedicated the book to her. I miss her. We must not forget Susan and the others who were taken from us so brutally, 5 years ago. Rest in peace, sweet Susan.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site.
