I met Susan when she was hired at Lichtenstein Engineers back in the 90's. We sort of had a joke between us because we both had the same names so anytime someone called our name out, we both answered!
I want to get back in touch with her mother but I don't even know what I would say. It will be 5 years soon and it still feels so unreal.
Susan was a very thoughtful, honest person.
We'd chit chat on the phone and she'd always remember me on my birthday, either with a card or insist that we go out and see a movie or grab a bite to eat in the neighborhood.
We would just have "girl talks" but there were times that I felt more comfortable around her than I did my own real sisters!
With Susan, it was always about "how "YOU" were doing?
If I was ever down or upset about stuff at work or something she'd constantly tell me, "you can't let this stuff get to you".
She was always very calm and easy going, I never saw her angry or upset with anyone. She was a very "go with the flow" type of person.
She was also a hard worker and very mature for her age, she was very responsible and always worried about her mom, her cats, even her plants!
I think about her all the time and when I go by the trade center now, I always stop and say a prayer for her as well as everyone else.
If her mom reads this, I want her to know that there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her.
Susan was a very well raised, thoughtful, responsible human being. Her mom did a great job raising her and she should be proud. She did right by her ten fold.
The world would be a better place if more people turned out like Susan did. I consider myself lucky to have been able to have been friends with her.
Even tho we didn't call each other every day, a month could go by and we'd be able to pick up right where we left off.
I will miss her but she is with God, the safest place to be.
Susan..I miss you GF...but I'll see ya on the other side one day...

I didn't know you well, only working with you in passing. I'm so sorry that you were taken from us in such a violent, non-sensical manner with so much of your life still in front of you.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
