Our family is at the SF Giants game and we were handed a card. On one side the American Flag. On the other a 9/11 remembrance with a sticker of a 9/11 victim. The name, Thomas Dowd. We found this site to learn about Thomas. We will never forget. God Bless Thomas Dowd and America.

I am thinking of all of you and as I sat with my son Ryan this morning, he expressed his grief today, over the loss of a great basketball coach and father. We were at the funeral as well and could sense the love and respect he left on our community. My thoughts and prayers are with Kerrianne and the kids, and may they continue to flourish in his memory. Blessings to his family may his memory be eternal in your hearts forever.
Love and Hugs,
Tamara

I never met you in person, only a brief phone call when you needed help with your phone. I was the technician that you got on line when you called AT&T. I don't remember a whole lot of our conversation except that you were very nice and did all of the troubleshooting that I asked you to do. We were able to fix your phone. I just wanted you to know I IMMEDIATELY thought of you when we heard about that first hit on the tower. I am praying for your family. Each anniversary of this most terrible day in history has to be hard on them. God be with you all.

Tommy loved his wife and kids more than anything. When he talked about his family his smile lite up the world.
I miss you, little brother. I know you are watching over your family.

At Tommy's funeral over 400 people showed up to pay their respects. The church had to set up speakers and open the windows for the people who stood outside. I realized at that moment how special Tommy was and how touched so many people in his life. When I spoke at that service I asked everyone to remember him for the person his was and not for the day he died, where he died, or how he dies. In the last two years I know that wish has come true. His memory has been honored in so many ways with scholarships, tournaments, thousands of t-shirts with his name on them, and just a friendly conversation about his funny way. I am so very proud to be called his wife and to have his children who will always keep his memory alive with the little pieces of him they carry.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
