Having watched the channel 4 programme aired in the UK last week called "children of 9/11 it was clear Mr Burrent (and others) sacrificed their life to save others.

The 3 girls and his wife should be rightly proud of their father/husband and I wish them wel for the future.

Thank you Mr. Burnett, for your bravery.

Without your bravery, one of our greatest landmarks, the White House or the Capitol building, would have been demolished in a cloud of dust.

Without your bravery, more innocent lives would have been lost.

My condolences to Mrs. Burnett and her three daughters. It should always comfort your little girls that Daddy was a hero.

Sincerely, Jeff Williams

I continue to keep Tom and his family in my thoughts and prayers. They are often times in my intentions when I go to mass.

Never a day has gone by since 9/11/01 that I do not think of these brave men and women—ordinary citizens turned heroes. Every day I say a prayer for their families—the victims themselves have no more need of prayer, for they are all truly safe in the arms of God. God bless you all.

I am 15 yrs old, and I have watched Flight 93 and many documentaries about 9/11. Growing up I was never really a superhero kind of kid, but the heroes on flight 93 are more powerful than all the made-up superheroes. Praying for you and your families!

All of you on flight 193 were heroes, so I will include all of you in my prayers.

I saw the Natgeo today on 9/11 again. Every time it shakes my soul from inside to see what happened. I then look at Tom and Deena and wonder what their life would be today. I cannot imagine the courage and bravery he had to give himself up to saves others' lives. This is what America stands for. People of unimaginable courage, selflessness, and care for others. I wish all human beings could be like Tom.

I think that it is very sad and wrong what happened to him. I am a student at Auburn Jr. High in Auburn, Alabama, and I decided to do my project on him. I am sorry for what happened. He did not deserve it.

Dear American Hero ... Today was Wreath's Across America, and I met your parents at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minnesota. I had the honor of standing at the Air Force marker as they laid a wreath in your honor at the Air Force marker. With pride in his voice and tears in his eyes ... your father shares you through his stories with honored strangers such as me. What an honor to stand next to him, to share a hug and listen about you, our hero and your father's son! We will never forget 9/11 or you, Tom!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
