I've never met Thomas, but he's an inspiration to the beginning of my firefighter career. I'm a volunteer, and we're doing reports on at least 1 of the 434 firemen who lost their lives. I hope to get to know Thomas and the 424 others also.

God bless you!

I never met Tommy. My wife and I did attend his funeral. We did it as a very small personal tribute to him and to the other 342. He is my example. He is the person, and his is the family, that we remember as we honor the courage of all 343.

Never met Thomas, but his grandma Rose was my mom's first cousin. My mom is Maria Parisi Capasso. They came to America on the same boat from Bari, Italy. He was a distant cousin, but everyone in our family is so proud of him and his sacrifice. Rest in peace, and may God bless your wife and children and family.

I noticed a photo I took in the building reserved just for the family of the individuals who lost their lives on 9/11. A photo of Thomas E. Sabella stood out, and I just wanted to let you and the family know that his life will forever live in the hearts of every American.

Thank you
Danny

It still feels like only yesterday I called your mom, Tommy, to see if you were okay. It was seven years ago today. I was relieved when she said she had heard you were okay. Something inside me was still not sure this was true, though. When she returned to Florida and called, I knew when I heard her voice that my insides had unfortunately been right. Though we were not close as we got older, you will always be remembered by me as being a gentle, kind soul.

Love,
Your cousin Grace

To Tommy's sister, brother, wife, children, nieces, and nephews: My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

I never had the pleasure of meeting you, Tommy, but through your nephew, Jason, I have come to know the caliber of man that you were. I only wish that I could have seen for myself. You would be proud of Jason serving in the Air Force, as I know he's so proud of your service in the FDNY.

Your selfless actions on that fateful day serve as an inspiration to not only your nephew, but to me. I will never, ever forget you or your brothers who perished so heroically.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that one lay down his life for his brother." You lived this motto, Tommy, and your spirit now carries it on.

ALTHOUGH I NEVER MET YOU I HAVE COME TO FIND OUT WHAT AN EXTRA SPECIAL PERSON YOU WERE. YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE SO BLESSED TO KNOW YOU. KEEP SHINING OVER YOUR LOVED ONES.          LIZ MORALES, STATEN ISLAND

Tommy was a childhood friend,
growing up on Staten island with Tommy was great. We spent many good times together. As kid back then we built go-carts we built clubhouses and we talked about what we would do when we grew up. Tommys Dad was a welder. He was great in helping on building a go-cart but Tommy wanted more in Life. He would try anything as a kid.  We had a tree house he would build and climb like no tommorow.H.S. came he was looking for more It was then I remember he met Diana The love of his life! I didnt see Tommy too much after that but there were so many good times I can remember as a kid with Tommy, I remember his Mom, His Grandma who helped me with my Italian. his Sister Loretta, his brother Charles. But the Best was seeing his Children, God Bless Them! The only problem I never got to meet them while there Dad was around. Hey Tom, thanks for the memories, God Bless, Until we meet again, Your childhood friend,

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
