Tim,

I did not know you, but I have stumbled on to this site because I was searching my family tree. Now I know that you were in my family. I will miss you. I am soo sorry. All of us Byrnes must stick together, even if we don't even know each other. St. Louis......  laughAlot112194@aol.com

Tim,
I love and miss you, six years have gone by and it feels like yesterday when I heard on the news that a plane hit one of the towers. I remember thinking you would give me the play by play, not realizing the seriousness of the crash. I called your office immediately but there was no service. I quickly tried your cell phone but just got your voicemail. I left you a message never thinking it would go unanswered. After a brief conversation with Chris it became very clear something was not right. I drove home to let Suzie know I was on my way to see mommy and that something terrible has happened. She asked if you were okay, I told her I don't know but I would call her ASAP. The ride on 135 heading to Huntington was as if time stopped, I drove listening to reports on the radio saying there were multiple plane crashes around the country, all I could think was Lord help Tim get out, help Tim get out. I arrived at mommy's to see her on the floor unable to stand watching the towers fall; I crabbed her and told her you were okay. In the other room I heard the screams from Chris and Tina who were holding each other both in shock as they watched your tower collapse. In that moment, I realized my life would never be the same again. These past six years have not been easy, but I know you and Daddy have been with us every step. I promise you Tim, the Byrne family will KEEP MOVING FORWARD, and we will make you and Daddy proud. God bless and wish daddy a Happy Birthday.

I went to Syracuse University with Tim. We were both Econ majors. We studied for our last final together at the Delta Gamma house. He did come back more serious after the death of his father, but Tim was always there with a smile. I wish that I would have known him better in college...I called him about five years ago, as my work brought me to the City, and I saw on the SU Alumni site that Tim lived there. We spoke on the phone twice briefly, but I never did get to see him again. It would have been nice. I have a couple of photos, as well as several SU Football Programs that I would like to pass on to the family, if anyone would like to contact me. michelecilurzo@yahoo.com. God Bless.

I am presently age 36, the same age as Timothy on 9/11/01. I searched names of those who perished on 9/11 for any 'Byrne's' and I found two. I am a Byrne, originally from New Jersey. We are a very large, close knit family. As a Byrne, I would like to express my condolences for you having lost a loved one in the attacks. My prayers are with you and your family. Family is everything. May God bless you and know that as a possible distant 'family' member - you have my prayers and support. Sincerely, Darin J. Byrne, Winchester, VA. darinjbyrne@yahoo.com

Tim,
There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you and what you meant to me and the family. I miss the father you were to me, the friend, and most of all I miss my big brother. I can't believe its been 5 years since that terrible day, it seems like just yesterday we were throwing the football together at the Jet opener. The only comfort I have is knowing you are with daddy and watching over the Byrne family and leading us as you did when you were alive. Your spirit lives on with all your family and friends and the thousands of lives you have touched before and after your death. I love you and miss you. Say Hi to daddy for me, let him know that #6 is on the way.

Just wanted to post that we have welcomed a son into the world and he has been named Timothy Patrick..he was born on June 7, 2005. Much love to the Byrne family- Tracy

It was beautiful to read that cousin Chris named his son Tim after his brother. Regretfully our family hasn't been
in touch as I would have liked through the years, but we are still deeply hurt and saddened for cousin Timothy's loss. He had turned out to be from everyone's accounts a wonderful man.
I am now pregnant with my second child and though we have opted to not find out the sex of the child till the big day, one thing is certain. If I have a baby boy he will also be named Timothy (Patrick)...after cousin Timmy and Uncle Patrick, who I also had a great love and admiration for.
May God bless you and the rest of the Byrne family, and please know that he hasn't been forgotten and that we love you guys very much. Your cousin, Tracy

Two years seems longer, our sadness lingers but our hearts are stronger.  We think about you each and every day, your fun times, your caring way.  I have a son, I've named him Tim, and I will always share your stories, values and lessons with him.

We miss you and love you,

Chris, Tina & Little Tim

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
