Dear Haskell Family,

I am a 16 year old kid from Grand Rapids, Michigan. For the tenth anniversary of 9/11 our city had a memorial at a ski resort. They had a flag for every person that died their, and a card attached to it with a name and a discription of a person that died. One of the cards that I read was Timothy Haskell. I felt so touched that I bought that flag and card in honor of him, and the money went to a non-profit organization to help firefighters. If you read this, please send me an email, I would greatly appriciate it. I would love to talk to a family member.

I have just watched the final episode of RESCUE ME, and of all the names which featured on the memorial behind Dennis Leary, the name of Timothy Haskell caught my eye and remained in my memory, and so became the focus of my search on the Internet. Ten years later, I grieve for his family in their loss.

Dear Haskell Family:
Today, 10 years after 9/11 I participated in the Memory Walk/Stair Climb in Baton Rouge, LA for the 911 victims. I had the honor of climbing stairs in memory of your son. At age 60 it was tough and I only made it a third of the way. I realized then the incredible effort and sacrifice that your son gave 10 years ago. I cannot express the honor I had in doing this in his memory. May all of the Haskell family be blessed and encouraged by his bravery, commitment and sacrifice. His name will be forever with me and my family.

I lived in Seaford when the 9/11 attacks happened, so I have always said a special prayer for you and your brother on 9/11. Thinking of you, your brother, and your family on this 10 year anniversary of the attacks.

Timothy, There was a 5K 9/11 Remembrance Marathon in Modesto Ca. My Son Cpl. Albert Sanchez Jr. a US Marine, was visiting home and decided to do the run. They had lanyards with many firemen who went into the Towers to help on Sept. 11. My son came across yours and said come on Tim lets do this run together. He came in 1st place and at the end of the run he said “ you were with me all the way Timmy…. We Did It “ I thought it was a very touching story and needed to share it.

Tim got the royal musical treatment today. I knew him briefly as a correction officer. Still thinking about him and his brother.

Tim,
I knew you when you were first hired as a "blue shirt" @ the Nass. Co. Correctional Facility. I was one of the nurses working on b-medical and everytime we saw each other, we engaged in friendly long conversations and always had a huge smile on your face. All you could talk about was hoping to get into the FDNY. I want to thank you and your courageous brother for putting your lives at risk to save whoever you came across. You are truely a hero and here it is the 10th year anniversary of that fateful day. Thanks Tim for your bravery without a thought about yourself. God Bless You.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
