Today in Broomfield CO, we attended a community 9/11 Memorial service. Everyone chose a small flag with a name of a victim. Ours is for Tim. We extend our deep sympathy to his family and friends, and hope they take heart from the fact that he was a great hero, is remembered far across the country today, and we are grateful and honor his sacrifice.

The pain of loss never diminishes, the wound remains open, the memories flood our senses and we can never be completely at peace. We miss Timmy, we long for his smile, his hugs, his love and his joy. There is no end to our sorrow.

You are the reason I joined the US armed forces.... I never want someone to feel the pain of losing a family member as special as you. I miss you....

I knew Timmy when he was just 19 years old and came to work for my small construction company in Hastings on Hudson, New York. Tim would tell me that I was his first boss and that this was his first "real" job. I remember that he wanted to learn everything he could about construction but also that he had many diverse interests. He also loved to listen to music, and I remember that he seemed to often talk about Bono. He was always playing music at the job site, and when I would turn down the radio, he would always be the one to turn it back up.

Tim was very outgoing and became friends with just about everyone he met. We had a mutual friend who graduated with me from Columbia. I recall learning a few years after closing down my company to work for Tishman (the company that constructed the towers), that Tim had moved to New York and joined the NYFD. This was many years before I learned of his fate from that same friend, who was fortunate to stay in touch with Tim to see him grow up as a man with such a young family.

Tim was heroic and brave. Seeing his face brings me back nearly 20 years to that time when my path crossed his. Tim's memory lives on. May we all count our blessings and pray for each other and our families.

Timmy, you were always a ray of sunshine, your smile lit up my life. It is four years later, and we miss you desperately, love you intensely and hold you forever in our hearts.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
