I never met Todd ... but I will never forget him. He will always be a hero to me and in my heart.

Final Destination: Shanksville, PA.
A Tribute to the Crew and Passengers of United Flight 93

Newark airport is nice, time will just fly.
The takeoff was great, now for fun in the sky.
The level off is smooth; PA says something about a bomb.
People donít pay much attention, everybody pretty calm.
Suddenly things get crazy, start to become unwound.
Flight attendants are yelling, people running all around.
Now itís pretty scary, people starting to pray.
Cell phones a buzzing, everyone has something to say.
Terrible things in New York, bad things in DC.
Never such carnage in our history.
Take the cockpit is what we must do,
Women, men, the young, old folks, too.
No time to think, no time to be sad,
Letís control our destination; or itís going to be bad.
ďLetís roll,Ē started our finish. That was our call.
Forty acted as one for the good of us all.
The final war was furious. we got the final say:
Not Americaís capital, but final destination, Shanksville, PA.

What would you do, if you met life face to face?
Would you die like these heroes, with courage and grace?

After I read the story of your life, I knew I had met a person who really knows how to answer the calling of braveness. I salute you heroes of United 93.

I believe that Todd is one of the most courageous men out there. He is the man who showed those terrorists that our country will not go down without a fight. God bless Todd Beamer and all the passengers of Flight 93.

I think this is a very cool site! :) It's great that you are honoring such a great person, who not only helped to save many lives, along with the other people on Flight 93, but is also known for his famous quote, "Let's Roll." He is a legend to this day, and God rest his soul.

Todd Beamer is a true hero and saved many lives. Although their lives were lost in that terrible plane crash, Todd and the rest of the passengers gave their lives in saving many more people. And for that they will never, ever be forgotten. May they all have a spot in heaven.

After watching the movie about Flight 93, I have just realized how big a man Todd Beamer actually was. I'm not the most religious man in the world, and maybe he wasn't either, but he believed in a higher power, as do I. Thank you Todd Beamer, thank you and your family for your courage and bravery on that fateful day.

We all sit here and say, "I would have done the same thing." Well, think really long and hard about that for a second. Would you have? I would only hope so, but the fact is, he did, and his life will go on through his children, and they'll realize the strength they have in their genes, and they, too, will be a positive mark in this sometimes dark world.

Thank you,
Rick Boretti

Today it is again 11 September, and I was remembering what happened on this day four years ago. I have read the story of Todd Beamer in the book, "Let's Roll," so he and his family is the only ones I "know" of. So with these comments I want to let his family know that I'm thinking of them today and wish them God's blessings for all the days of the coming year.

Todd is a true American "hero" may God bless his family and all who knew and loved him. I also lost a wonderful friend on 9-11-01 in the World Trade Center. All who lost their lives on that day are "heroes" to me.

In memory of Todd Beamer, Daniel Van Laere, and all of the others who lost their lives four years ago tomorrow.

I have never met you or your family, but because of the book that your wife has written, it has showed me how a brave man can make the biggest difference in the world. Your husband sounds like he was a wonderful man who meant a lot to you and your family. I am sorry for your loss, and I wish your family the best. May God bless you and everything you do.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.
