I just watched "Flight 93," and I was so moved by your courage. May God bless you and your family always. You were a true hero!

I wasn't able to serve my country, and I feel extremely obligated. I was going to write how Todd Beamer stood up to the plate, relieving me of my obligation, only to realize I'm obligated even more because of his great courage.

I read Lisa Beamer's book, "Let's Roll," and have come to the meaning of the people who lost their lives on 9-11. It isn't fair that anyone had to risk or lose their lives because of the wrong doings of others. People aboard United Flight 93 gave a tremendous sacrifice to protect the people in the capitol building. They gave the people in that building a chance to live by giving up their own lives. God bless all the 9-11 victims! :-)

I don't know Todd personally, but I can only hope in a situation like that I could be as brave as he was. I wish there were more of us out there who could be as heroic as he was. God bless his family.

Today for some reason I just got to wondering whatever happened to Lisa. I used to see her on Larry King live, and I never hear anything about her anymore. She was such a wonderful person, and she had a very wonderful man. I just hope that she and the children are doing really well now, and I would love to see her again on TV. Thank you, Lisa, for your bravery, and I thank Todd for being my hero.

Todd,

I saw the movie, “United 93.” Your courage and overwhelming strength is just superb. Ya knew ya were gonna die, but ya fought like a true marine sayin’, “Ya ready guys? O.K., let’s roll!” — a phrase which now is used by all branches of the U.S. military. Todd, without a doubt in my mind, you are a
bona fide hero and an honorary U.S. marine. I do salute you, and I hope you are at peace. Your spirit, your magnificent legacy, will never be forgotten. You, along with all the men and women of United Airlines Flight 93, will never be forgotten. This country salutes you!

I feel like you should have a statue in your honor.

Let's hope that all those brave souls' lives were not given in vain! Firemen and first responders, folks like Todd Beamer, and the rest of those poor souls on doomed aircraft. GOD BLESS AMERICA ... from a CANADIAN who cares!

[Ed. - I'm from Mexico, but that date never will never be erased from my mind, nor I believe from anybody else's. I saw the film “United 93,” and saw the feat that they accomplished, as much by Todd as by the other passengers. And since then I consider them to be national heroes of the United States of America. God bless you, Todd, and I hope that you are enjoying the presence of God our creator. And may your family have sufficient strength to bear so painful a loss, and may they only think that you simply went ahead of them in the way that all must pass and that one day not so very distant they'll meet you again. May God bless you and all the passengers of United Flight 93.]

Lisa,

I know it's been seven years. I still think of your family often. My family visited Washington this summer. My husband and I have a son who just turned 12 and a daughter of 8. I think you are a great mother. You showed how strong you are, and I often think of you and Jackie Kennedy: the strength you both gave the world. That's a great gift to hold on to. I read your book when it first came out. It was great! It just made me feel that no matter what happens in life, you have to be strong and hold on to what you have. I know from watching you on TV and reading your book how much you loved your husband and still do. Just know you're very well thought of, and you will always be that loving wife.

Love,

Todd's death was not in vain, and he died for a cause. For me personally in 2001 on 9-11, I was married to someone Arab, had converted to Islam for him, and had legally changed my name to the chagrin of my family. I was a dumb silly girl who wanted something exotic in college and rebelled. Todd's story brought me home to Christ. I realized how important God's will was and that I was and always will be a Christian. I got divorced and slowly turned my life around. Today as we commemorate the sad anniversary, I think of the love Todd had for God and the blue skies that remained after the towers fell. I thought of the way God used Todd Beamer to be a witness for him and the beauty of that. I thought of the son I now have who is alive because these heroes of 9-11 made me want to get a divorce and remarry with his wonderful American father. You see, my ex-husband, an Arab, agreed with 9-11 and the terrorists, and that's when everything changed for me. I owe so much to Todd and these wonderful American men and women who gave their lives. Todd, you are one of the best men I never got to know. I hope that your home in heaven is bright and filled with the happiness you had every day on Earth. My son would not be here without your sacrifice.

Sincerely,
Megan (Yasmine) Hurley

I honor Todd. He is a true American Hero. He showed amazing leadership skills on that very rough day just seven years ago. I know am starting to use Todd's "Let's Roll" quote more and more every day. United We Stand 9-11-01. "Keep it Stout" and "Let's Roll." Thank you, Todd and all of the other 9-11 Heroes!

Today is 9/11/08, and I listened to Todd's dad today on the radio. He was an inspiration to all of us who heard him. Todd and the other men and women on the plane with him will always be remembered for their bravery and courage. That is what America is made of — doing the right thing even in a crisis. God bless them all.

Mr. Beamer, you are truly a great American. May you and your courageous act never be forgotten.

Lisa —

I can't begin to imagine what you've been through during the last seven years as a widowed mother. Todd died a hero, but in your children's eyes, you, too, Lisa, will always be a hero! May God comfort you today and every day. My thoughts and prayers are with you especially today as I remember the tragedy of 9/11/2001 and the loss of your husband.

  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
