I came across this website today. Tears are still rolling down my cheeks. Vanessa, you are missed by all. You have touched the lives of many throughout this world. May you and Tim, along with your baby and everyone else that are there with you, rest in peace.
Always and forever,
Adriana and Nick

I live in the Pacific Northwest. At the time of 9/11, I was a single and 29; I was not yet a parent. As every other American, I was stunned and horrified beyond words, glued to CNN, reading every word of the Oregonian, my local newspaper, which printed the names of everyone who died that day. I thought it was important to read every name and every person's story, knowing that I couldn't possibly remember them all, and of course, I didn't. But I remembered Vanessa. I don't know why. I have thought of her over the years as I married and had children and went about the business of my daily life. I have said little prayers for her.
I am posting this remembrance on 9/11/2010, but I want Vanessa's loved ones to know that a perfect stranger from the opposite coast has not forgotten her, and will never forget her, on this day or any other day.

Vanessa,
Came to visit you today. Your moms flowers are beautiful. Today was just like 9 years ago. Beautiful blue sky. Not a cloud to be seen. If there's one day I could have back in history, it would be 09/11/2001. I'd tell you, "You can go to work today." We miss you... everyday....
love uncle Nicky

Hello Vanessa. I had the honor of seeing your memorial near Ground Zero. When I saw it, I immediately burst into tears. I may not have ever known you, but you will always be loved.

I did not know Vanessa, but I worked for Regus in the Los Angeles area on 9/11, which makes me feel connected to her in some way. My heart truly breaks for your loss. May God bless Vanessa and all who loved her.

Vanessa, I didn't know you very well, but through Timmy I saw you as a lifesaver, loving wife and caring person. We will always remember you, Timmy and your baby in our prayers. I know you are all together and happy now.

My prayers go out for Vanessa and her family. She is resting in peace with her grandmother now so I know she is happy. I wish this day never happened. So many people destroyed by this day for no reason at all. Belief is what we need that can keep us strong to know that one day again we will all see the people we love and miss.

Today on the radio I heard I tribute collaboration that had a woman talking to a dispatcher. It was so moving, so heartbreaking. At the end I thought she said the name Vanessa. I am not sure if this was her. But I will never forget that voice. I am so very, very sorry for your loss.

I'm Belgian and fifteen years old, and my name is Vanessa Langer, too. I can't speak English very well because I'm still learning. What I want to say is that it's strange that another person with the same name as me died in this horrible way! Now, she and her family are in my thoughts....

I never met Vanessa. I live on the opposite side of the country. But I watched the events of 9/11 unfold that horrible day on T.V. and, like every other American, it devastated me. I watched everything and kept thinking, "I wish we could just go back and this never happened...." While viewing profiles, I came across Miss Vanessa's ... what a beautiful girl! I'm so sorry to her family for their loss. I don't even know what else to say ... I'm just so sorry. Please know that your daughter will never be forgotten....

I had the opportunity to watch my first memorial reading of the names this morning. Although I could not watch the entire ceremony, my memory of Vanessa was stimulated by the ceremony. I hired Vanessa as my assistant in 1997. A month after I hired her, we had a tragedy in our family. Her unconditional compassion came through immediately as she did everything she could think of to help console my wife (a woman she only met once) We only worked together for 18 months or so but in that short time, she left an impression on me that carries through to this day. She was truly a wonderful person. God Bless Vanessa.

I knew Vanessa when she was about nineteen. She was gorgeous, smart, and very funny. I have only just discovered that she is no longer on earth, and I am very sad for her mother, who was a warm friend who welcomed me into her home when I was new to Syracuse. My heart aches for you, Donna.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
