I think of Vita often. Vita was a good friend and an inspiration from the time we started working together at Continental Insurance in the early 1980s. I recall vividly time spent with her and her husband. Their wedding. Dinner before the Thanksgiving Day great-balloon viewing by that Museum of National HIstory. Somehow Vita always knew what to do and how to do it. I valued her insights and friendship -- and as I said - - think of her so often.

As I remember Vita, I can only think of how beautiful she was and how thoughtful and kind to everyone. I respected her for how difficult it must have been to wear that brace to high school every day, and I believe that it was her wonderful personality and beautiful appearance that made the brace transparent. Vita was my high school friend, and I am saddened to know that her life was taken on 9-11. I understand that Vita has two daughters; I am certain that they are as lovely as she was.

I think about you so often. Your memory is everywhere every day. When we are all together, you live deep within us. That will never be taken away. Your daughters are beautiful young ladies, and I write them a poem every year so that they grow up knowing all about you. We will never forget the love and laughter you shared with so many.
Your sister-in-law and friend,
Debbie Marino

As I'm writing this, I have goosebumps all up and down my arms... Vita was one of my best friends through high school and beyond. Her sense of family, friendship, loyalty and purpose will always be remembered. Vita lived life fully each and every day. Her sense of humor, artistic talents, and culinary skills were some of the many talents she possessed. Her legacy is her two lovely daughters which have developed into gracious young ladies.... Vita would be so proud! As SHA Class of '70 prepares for our 40th Reunion, Vita will be sorely missed and we all will carry her in our hearts.... this Woman of Heart!

As the SHA class of 1970 prepares to celebrate out 40th reunion, I anticipate renewing friendships and hopefully getting to know more about everyone. I will not be able to know Vita again, terrorists took that away from ALL of us. Vita, you are not forgotten. We remember you

Vita and I took the bus together in High School. She and I went to Sacred Heart. She traveled everyday for 4 years with a brace on her neck to correct a spinal condition. Vita was a quiet pretty girl who took her problems in stride. For all her struggles all I can ask is why. The members of her class in Sacred Heart Academy grieve this loss. We will always remember you Vita. Our Condolences to Vita's family.

I recall with great warmth when you invited me to share Pesach Seder with your family at your table. What a wonderful Passover feast you had prepared, laid out on a crisp white cloth, with your best dinner set, candles glowing. And it was not even your holiday. Thank you, Vita. You touched my heart.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
