Never Forget 9/11/01
Today I placed my flag for William George Minardi in Downtown Sacramento for the 9/11 Memorial 5k run/walk. Each runner received a flag to represent an American who lost their life on 9/11 and placed it in the grass in the “Tribute in the Park” at Capitol Mall between 5th and 7th street. Nearly 3,000 flags stand united in the grass as a tribute to those that were lost. I wanted to look up the person I chose to place my flag next to. My heart sincerely goes out to his family and I pray that they all have faith that they will be with him again one day in heaven.

You were unknown to me but my facebook status is dedicated to you through the 9/11 Memorial. I am so sorry that you lost your life and your family lost you on that clear, bright day in September. I remember and honor you on this anniversary and send blessings to your family.

I never got the chance to meet you, but I am really lucky to have met your son. You would without a doubt be proud of the man he has become.

I am a distant family member that never had the privilege of knowing William. I just wanted to let his wife and children know that he is loved and thought of, even by people he never met. You will always be in my prayers.

Meeting you made an impression on me that I still hold with me to this day. Thinking of your smile, warmth and genuine goodness makes me want to always be kinder to people, as you were every day.

He was the friendliest man I've ever meet. I knew him for too short a time. He left behind a lovely family and a host of friends.

I pray that we don't ever forget the lives that were lost and the families they left behind and most of all who did it. I searched each name over the years and see that the Minardi name was there. I would like to hear from this family if possible. I am doing our geneology. My prayers have always been with you all.

Your memory and the times we spent together stay with me always. This day especially when I come to think of the inhumanity and cruelty that took you away all too soon. May God be with you and your family. Our days playing Football at Dom's working summers landscaping together and just hangin' out and laughing are in my heart and thoughts. God Bless!

I learned of William thru a family friend, who is a good friend of William's brother in law, Rick Patino.  I found that William didn't have a flower..and thought he should have one. RIP

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
